IDC MEMBERSHIP

GENERAL MEMBERSHIP

All members of local churches are encouraged to become members of the Illinois District council and to participate in the various activities of the Council and its auxiliaries.  Application for individual membership in the Illinois District Council is made by formal application process which includes a $15.00 fee.  Applications must be signed by the applicant’s pastor.  The pastor must be a member of the Illinois District Council before his/her congregation is eligible for membership.  All applications for individual membership are submitted to an appointed Membership and Credential committee which makes recommendations to the council.

Members are eligible to:
1. Participate in business sessions
2. Receive Council mailings
3. Eat dinner meal(s) at the council each day of meetings

The regular membership fee is $15.00 per quarter.  Senior Citizens (65 and older) are eligible for a reduced fee of $7.00 per quarter.  Council dues are paid quarterly in addition to any other fees or assessments.  (See “Licensing”)  Council dues are paid regardless of attendance.  In the event of your absence, dues may be forwarded to the Council secretary.

REINSTATEMENT
When a member’s dues become delinquent, that member is not in proper and full standing of membership.  In that event, the person may not run for office in any of the auxiliaries.  In the case of ministers, the consequences of delinquency could be much greater.  Any persons whose dues are in arrears may select to be reinstated to full membership.  In that case, the member must pay back dues from the last three (3) quarters and the current quarter for a total of $60.00.  Reinstatement is immediate upon payment.  Reinstatement does not negate absences from Council sessions.  In cases where attendance is required, as in nomination for auxiliary office, the persons is to be counted as non-attending if indeed that was the case.
